STORYLINE
In 1991, Neil Jordan showcased his talents once more as both writer and director with the release of "The Miracle." He brought together Beverly D'Angelo, Donal McCann, and Niall Byrne as the lead actors in this film.
Despite being an independent project, Neil's work received widespread acclaim, earning positive feedback from audiences and critics alike. This recognition led to the film's selection for the prestigious 41st Berlin International Film Festival.
Set in a quaint seaside town in Ireland, "The Miracle" follows the lives of two teenagers, Jimmy (Niall Byrne) and Rose (Lorraine Pilkington). They spend their days observing passersby, weaving imaginative stories about these strangers. They then notice a stylish and distinctive woman, Reene (Beverly D'Angelo), who stands out from the crowd. Jimmy and Rose decide to follow her to the beach.
Until finally this woman named Reene (Beverly D'Angelo) greets Jimmy and Rose. Jimmy finds himself attracted to Reene, who, in turn, seems to show interest in him. However, Reene maintains a certain distance from Jimmy. It is eventually revealed that Reene is, in fact, Jimmy's mother.
