STORYLINE
Among the plethora of action films gracing the international scene, the South Korean movie "A Hard Day" is a must-watch. Selected for the prestigious Director's Fortnight section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, it tells the story of a shrewd detective embroiled in a complex situation of his own making.
The detective, Ko Gun Su (Lee Sun Kyun), is involved in a local case when he accidentally hits and kills a homeless man with his car. Rather than report the accident, he hides the body in his mother's coffin. As he digs deeper, Gun Su finds out that the man he hit was actually on the police's wanted list for murder.
Things get more complicated when Lieutenant Park (Cho Jin Woong), another police officer, sees the hit-and-run and decides to use this information to blackmail Gun Su.
Refused to be manipulated, Gun Su starts his own investigation. He's shocked to find out that the man he hit was involved with Lieutenant Park in a drug case. Now, the tables have turned. Gun Su takes the offensive against Lieutenant Park. Who will come out on top?
