The Shining

"The Shining," based on a 1977 novel of the same name by renowned horror author Stephen King, follows the story of Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson), a family man who takes up a job as the caretaker of the remote Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies.

Jack settles into the hotel with his son, Danny (Danny Lloyd), and his wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall). The hotel manager, Stuart, previously tells Jack about a disturbing incident involving a former caretaker and cautions him to steer clear of room number 237.

As time passes in the hotel, Jack undergoes a sinister transformation, becoming a threat to his own family. Wendy, realizing the danger, quickly flees with Danny, who had harbored a foreboding feeling about the hotel from the start. Can Wendy and Danny escape the peril posed by Jack?
