The Romance of Tiger and Rose tells the story of Chen Xiao Qian, a screenwriter whose script is rejected by the lead actor. Determined to save her project, Chen rewrites the screenplay.

While revising the script, Chen falls asleep and finds herself in a dream where she enters a world she has created. In this dream world, she becomes a side character named Princess Qian Qian.

Surprisingly, everything in her dream matches with the scenario. However, in the story she wrote, Princess Qian Qian was killed at the hands of Prince Han Shuo, the lead character. As a result, she looks for a way to prevent Princess Qian Qian's fate from ending up like in her story.
