STORYLINE
IDN Pictures and MNC Pictures join forces to bring to the screen the exciting story of the iconic comedy group Srimulat. The film, with a runtime of 1 hour and 45 minutes, picks up into the lives of the ensemble, featuring characters such as Gepeng (Juan Bione), Basuki (Elang El Gibran), Djudjuk (Erika Carlina), Timbul (Dimas Anggara), Nunung (Zulfa Maharani), and the comically brilliant Tessy (Erick Estrada).
Rising to fame with their television debut in 1983, Srimulat quickly became a household name. This newfound fame ignited a desire within the group's founders to broaden their reach and make Srimulat a familiar name across Indonesia. However, the journey to realize this dream was fraught with challenges. The group members faced personal insecurities and a crisis of identity as they struggled with their afresh fame.
A significant hurdle they encountered was language. The members, who were accustomed to speaking Javanese, found themselves in a dilemma as television appearances required them to communicate in Indonesian. This film explores the resilience and unity of the Srimulat members as they strive to overcome these obstacles and achieve the success they aspire to.
