STORYLINE

Are you looking for an interesting old erotic movie to watch? Private Lives might be just what you're searching for. This Spanish movie, released in 2001 and directed by Fito Páez, falls into the erotic drama category. It centers around Carmen (Cecilia Roth) who has a traumatic past and unique way of fulfilling her sexual desires.

Carmen, who has long since left her hometown, returns to Buenos Aires to say goodbye to her father and learn about the inheritance rights reserved for his children.

Unable to overcome painful memories from her childhood, Carmen chooses to live in an apartment where her sexual desires intensify, leading her to hire a young, handsome taxi driver.

Rather than engaging in sexual activities, Carmen asks the taxi driver, Gustavo (Gael García Bernal), to read an erotic novel to her from another room. This becomes a nightly ritual. As time passes, Carmen and Gustavo develop a mutual attraction, exploring the possibility of a relationship beyond their unconventional arrangement.
