Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

The movie initially turned down by Disney has become one of the world's most triumphant films. Pirates of the Caribbean owes its success to stellar performances by the cast and the meticulous attention to special effects makeup that brings certain characters to life.

Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) goes on a mission to reclaim his stolen ship taken by his old nemesis, Captain Barbossa, leader of the Black Pearl pirates (Geoffrey Rush). Along the way, Jack meets a young man named Will Turner (Orlando Bloom).

Will finds himself enamored with Elizabeth Swann, daughter of the Governor of Port Royal, who was abducted by Barbossa. Driven by his affection for Elizabeth, Will teams up with Captain Jack to rescue her. Together, they set sail to Isla de Muerta Island, where they confront the cursed crew of the Black Pearl, led by Barbossa.

The curse transforms the entire crew into spectral pirates, and Barbossa seeks to break the curse by using Will's blood. Once again, Will becomes the target of Barbossa's nefarious intentions.
