My Idiot Brother

"My Idiot Brother" is directed by Alyandra, based on Agnes Davonar's novel of the same name. Released in 2014, the movie stars Adila Fitri and Ali Mensan, and tells the story of siblings who struggle to face life's challenges despite their physical differences.

Angel, a 15-year-old girl (Adila Fitri), feels very ashamed of her brother Hendra's (by Ali Mensan) physical and mental limitations. This makes Angel resent his brother, but in contrast, Hendra still loves his sister.

A pivotal moment comes when Hendra's act of kindness unintentionally embarrasses Angel, making her run away from him in a state of distress. Tragically, at that moment Angel gets into an accident. In order to save his sister, Hendra sacrifices himself. After the accident, Angel realized her loss and regrets over her brother's death.
