Munkar

The Umbara brothers are back at it again, showing their skill in making top-notch horror movies in Indonesia. Their latest film, "Munkar," brings to life the spooky story of the Herlina ghost, famous in Lamongan, East Java.

Directed by Anggy Umbara, the movie takes us inside an Islamic boarding school. Even though it's a religious place, it's not immune to bad things happening. Anggy and scriptwriter Evelyn Afnilia focus on the problem of bullying in their story.

Herlina, the main character, is always bullied by other students at the pesantren (boarding school). She can't take it anymore and tries to run away, but tragically, she gets hit by a truck and dies.

Then, something eerie happens. A few days after her death, Herlina comes back to the pesantren, looking healthy but different. That's when the real horror starts. This changed Herlina begins to haunt the boarding school, seeking revenge for what her classmates did to her in the past.
