STORYLINE
Matt Ryder (Jason Sudeikis), a music industry A&R rep, is in a tough spot. He's scrambling to find a new gig after his main client at the record label leaves. During this challenging time, he also has to visit his dad, Ben (Ed Harris), who is very sick. This visit reignites the strained relationship between father and son.
Ben finally gets a chance to catch up with Matt and even reveals that he was once a renowned photographer. They come up with a few ideas, one of which is to develop some of Ben's old Kodachrome film in Kansas. As they travel, they start to bond, tackle family issues, and navigate Ben's past career choices together.
"Kodachrome" is a comedy-drama film from 2017, directed by Mark Raso. The screenplay, written by Jonathan Tropper, is based on A.G. Sulzberger's 2010 New York Times article "For Kodachrome Fans, Road Ends at Photo Lab in Kansas". The film explores the final days of the once-popular photo developing process, Kodachrome.
