The story begins with Jamie (Ellen Adair) and Alex (Mitzi Akaha), who travel to a small town in Missouri for a canoeing adventure. However, their journey takes a dramatic turn when an accident leaves Alex with a broken leg. In search of assistance, they make their way to the nearest town.

Upon their arrival, they are shocked to find that the town is besieged by a rampant virus known as Heps, with the local militia struggling to contain it.

They encounter the local leader, Big John (Jeremy Holm), who immediately offers aid. However, once inside the safety of the bunker, Alex senses that something is amiss. Now, both Alex and Jamie face the critical challenge of finding a way to escape.
