In 2011, Matthew Logelin's memoir, "A Memoir of Loss and Love", inspired Paul Weitz and Dana Stevens to adapt it into an American comedy-drama film script entitled "Fatherhood". The movie, starring Kevin Hart in the lead role, was released in 2021.

"Fatherhood" dives into the journey of a father who struggles with the task of raising his daughter after the sudden loss of his wife. Initially, Matthew (Kevin Hart) and Liz (DeWanda Wise) enjoy a happy married life, welcoming their daughter Maddy (Melody Hurd) into the world.

Tragically, Liz passed away shortly after giving birth and this left Matthew devastated. When doing everything on his own, Matthew faces many challenges. When Matthew tries to start dating again, it pushes Maddy away.

Maddy chose to live with her grandparents, making Matthew realize that his actions were putting distance between him and his daughter. Faced with this realization, Matthew goes on a journey to repair their relationship and reconnect with his beloved daughter.
