STORYLINE
War movies often captivate audiences, and "Beasts of No Nation" is no exception. Set against the backdrop of a civil war in Africa, this film stands out because it focuses on a child soldier, unlike most war films that typically feature teenage or adult soldiers.
In a shocking twist, the story revolves around Agu (Abraham Attah), a young boy who, in an ideal world, would be spending his days playing and learning. Instead, Agu coerces into joining a group of soldiers in a fictional West African country. Overwhelmed and terrified of his commanding officer and the new world around him, he has no choice but to comply.
Agu's childhood is abruptly stripped away as he is exposed to the horrors of cruel tortures and the brutality of war in his homeland. At such a tender age, he is burdened with making life-altering decisions for his own survival. Is Agu able to bear the enormous responsibility of being a child soldier in the midst of a civil war?
