All Together Now

In 2010, author Matthew Quick released a captivating book titled "Sorta Like a Rockstar." Its engaging story caught the attention of director Brett Haley and screenwriter Marc Basch, leading them to create a film adaptation. The movie was released in 2020 and follows the journey of a high school student working hard to achieve her dreams.

The film centers around Amber Appleton (played by Auliʻi Cravalho), an incredibly active high school student. She's not just busy with school; she also works and participates in various positive activities in her spare time. Her optimistic outlook has a big impact on her friends, especially Ricky (Anthony Jacques Jr.) and Ty (Rhenzy Feliz).

Despite her cheerful appearance, Amber is dealing with a tough financial situation. She and her mother have to live in a school bus. Yet, this challenging circumstance doesn't dampen Amber's determination to be helpful and kind. She even steps in to help her friends when they face problems with their graduation ceremony.

Gradually, all of Amber's good deeds start to make a difference. Her friends and those around her come together to support her, helping her through her difficult times.
