A Copy of My Mind

A Copy of My Mind is an Indonesian film directed and written by the famous Joko Anwar. This film stands out from other drama films because it has a vibe similar to action-packed Western movies, making it enjoyable to watch.

The main character, Sari (Tara Basro), works in a beauty salon and loves watching pirated DVD movies, which she frequently buys. Her simple dream is to own a home theater system so she can enjoy movies just like in a cinema. Her passion for movies leads her to meet Alex (Chicco Jerikho), a film subtitle translator. The two quickly become close and start dating.

Eventually, Sari gets a job to work for a prisoner. When she arrives at the prison, she discovers that the inmate's room is equipped with the home-theater system she has always dreamed of, along with original DVDs of her favorite movies. Overwhelmed by her desire, she decides to steal a DVD, which, to her shock, contains recorded evidence of a crime committed by one of her clients at the prison.

As a result, Sari becomes the target of the criminal's accomplice, pulling Alex into a dangerous situation as well.
