1. Thor (2011)

The first Thor movie, released in 2011, follows the story of Thor's exile from his homeland. He is banished to Earth, the realm of humans.

In the eyes of the gods, humans are mortal beings with short lives and no inherent power. Consequently, Thor's powers are stripped away by his father, Odin, the King of Asgard, as part of his exile.

Thor landed in New Mexico, where astrophysicist Dr. Jane Foster discovered him, but he was separated from his hammer. Locals found Mjolnir, Thor's enchanted hammer, but it couldn't be lifted due to Odin's curse that only the worthy can wield it. S.H.I.E.L.D., led by Agent Phil Coulson then was appointed to guard the hammer.

Agent Phil Coulson, the commander of S.H.I.E.L.D. took all of Jane Foster's data and belongings by force to find out about the wormhole that brought the alien objects (Thor and his hammer) to Earth. Meanwhile, Thor finally found the location where his Mjolnir was.

While trying to retrieve his hammer from the facility constructed by S.H.I.E.L.D., Thor was unable to lift it and was subsequently captured and arrested. With the assistance of Professor Erik Selvig, Jane Foster's colleague, Thor manages to escape.

As the movie progresses, Thor develops a romantic bond with Foster. However, the core issue is not Thor's love story; It revolves around the throne of Asgard, which has been usurped by Loki, and Loki's scheme to enslave humanity.

2. Thor: The Dark World (2013)

Thor: The Dark World explores the adventures of Thor and Loki following the New York battle. Released in 2013, the film delves into events long before Thor's birth.

Bor, Odin's father, confronts the Dark Elf Malekith, who seeks to unleash a weapon called the Aether across the Nine Realms. After defeating Malekith's forces, Bor hides the Aether for safekeeping.

Back to the present, Loki is imprisoned in Asgard for his crimes on Earth. Meanwhile, Thor and the warriors of Asgard battle across realms to restore peace and security.

Thor and Jane's relationship faces challenges as Thor prioritizes his duties in Asgard while Jane focuses on her life on Earth. Nevertheless, Thor keeps watch over Jane through Heimdall, the guardian of the Bifröst, the bridge connecting the Nine Realms.

Heimdall, though blind, possesses senses that surpass those of divine beings. He informs Thor that Jane is now beyond his sight, meaning she cannot be detected in the human world, which deeply concerns Thor.

Upon finding Jane, Thor discovers that something was wrong with her health. He decided to bring Jane to Asgard, making her the first mortal ever been there.

Odin, recognizing the Aether, warned that Aether would not only kill Jane but also foreshadow the impending disaster.

3. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

This 3rd series is anticipated to be the best Thor movie among the others. The movie takes place two years after the battle of Sokovia, when Thor is imprisoned by a fire demon named Surtur.

From Surtur, Thor learns that Odin is no longer in Asgard. Surtur says that Asgard will soon be destroyed, this prophecy has been around for a long time and his name is Ragnarök. However, Thor managed to break free, defeated Surtur and took his crown. Thor believed that he had prevented Ragnarök.

Thor returned to Asgard and was surprised by the whereabouts of Heimdall, as well as Loki disguised as Odin. After exposing Loki, Thor forced him to help find their father. The two found their father in Norway.

Odin reveals that he is dying and confirms that Ragnarök cannot be prevented. He explains that his death will release his firstborn, Hela, from her hellish prison. Thor and Loki were shocked, as their parents had never spoken about their brother. The two also found out that there was another son on top of Thor.

After Odin's death, Hela appeared as Odin's spell had faded. She battles Thor and Loki, destroying Thor's hammer and successfully entering Asgard through the Bifröst Bridge. In the chaos, Thor and Loki are thrown off the bridge's path by Hela and find themselves separated.

Thor finds himself stranded on the planet Sakaar, where he is captured by a scavenger named Scrapper 142 and presented to the ruler of Sakaar, the Grandmaster. Thor was forced to enter the Grandmaster's Contest of Champions, where he had to fight a "Champion" who turned out to be his old friend from Earth, the Hulk.
