Triangle of Sadness

"Triangle of Sadness" is a film that cleverly teaches us about the roles of the 'eater' and the 'eaten' in society. Written and directed by Ruben Östlund in his feature film debut, it's an engaging story about a celebrity couple whose luxurious yacht trip turns into a struggle for survival.

The film unfolds in three parts, beginning with the introduction of the main characters, including the celeb couple, Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean). They're models who get an invitation to join a fancy yacht trip with other VIP guests.

But their enjoyable journey takes a dark turn when a storm hits and wrecks the ship, leaving them stranded on an island. Among the few survivors are a small group of guests and one low-ranking crew member. Now, the previously snobbish guests have to rely on the very crew member they looked down on. Isn't that ironic?
