The Medium

"The Medium" is a horror film directed by Na Hong Jin from South Korea and Banjong Pisanthanakun from Thailand. It centers around a village in Thailand that worships the Bayan God.

The film kicks off with a group of young filmmakers wanting to create a documentary about Nim, a shaman who serves as a medium for Lord Bayan. According to local belief, Lord Bayan chooses mediums from his own bloodline, and rejecting him can bring disaster.

The documentary team starts to film strange occurrences when Nim's niece, who doubts the power of Lord Bayan, experiences terrifying events like possession and irrational behavior.

As the filmmakers dig deeper into the daily lives of Shaman Nim and her family, they witness more frightening incidents. The story raises questions about whether the team can complete their film without harm. What will happen to them in the end?
