STORYLINE
"The Gate of Xuan Wu" is inspired by a historic event called the Xuanwu Gate Incident, a pivotal moment in the Tang Dynasty on July 2, 626. The drama centers on a statue craftsman and unfolds in Beijing's Old Quarter.
Here, an heirloom piece of jade jewelry, symbolizing the nation’s prosperity and hope, faces the threat of theft. A dedicated sculptor, Li Tian Shun, wants to protect this priceless artifact.
Despite facing overwhelming challenges that nearly cost him his family, Li Tian Shun is not alone. He is supported by courageous allies, including Yang Shang De, a Chinese opera singer, and Ding Guang Yuan, a camel herder.
The return of Ding Liu Lan, a Communist revolutionary, to his hometown brings new hope to the residents. Alongside Li Tian Shun and other local heroes, they strive to secure a brighter future for the Old Quarter.
