Rock of Ages

Tom Cruise isn't just good at acting in 'serious' action movies; he's also great in other types of films. In this jukebox musical comedy directed by Adam Shankman, he shines as a rock star named Stacee Jaxx.

The story takes place in 1987 when Sherrie Christian moves to Hollywood to become a rock star. She meets Drew Boley, who once had the same dream. Now, Drew is a bartender at the Bourbon Club, the center of the rock music scene in the city. He helps Sherrie when she first arrives, and gradually, they start to fall for each other.

Meanwhile, the Bourbon Club, where Drew works, is running out of money. The club is also under threat from the Mayor, who wants to shut it down. To save the club, the managers ask rock star Stacee Jaxx to play at a charity concert for free.

As Drew and Sherrie's relationship grows, their love and dreams are challenged by the changing tastes in music and Stacee's influence.
