Ratu Ilmu Hitam

In 1981, the film "Ratu Ilmu Hitam" (The Queen of Black Magic), directed by Imam Tantowi, became a hit and was very popular among horror film enthusiasts. Following its success, director Kimo Stamboel collaborated with Joko Anwar to remake the film, which then garnered considerable attention from critics.

The plot centers around a family Hanif (Ario Bayu), his wife Nadya (Hannah Al Rashid), and their three children, who visit the orphanage where Hanif grew up. Several of Hanif’s friends and their spouses also join them.

During their visit to the orphanage, a horrific event occurs that affect many people. Upon investigation, they discover that the tragedy is linked to a past incident involving Hanif, his friends, and the orphanage’s caretaker, Pak Bandi (Yayu Unru). This incident left behind deep resentment that Hanif and his friends now need to resolve. What exactly did Hanif do?
