STORYLINE
A contemporary scam trend, where fraudsters impersonate family members asking for phone credit, gets a unique twist in this horror-comedy film released in 2012. Featuring Nikita Mirzani and directed by Nuri Dahlia, the movie turns a common scam into a spine-tingling yet humorous storyline.
In the film, a group of security guard trainees at a camp are baffled by text messages that seem to be part of the Mama Minta Pulsa (Mama asks for credit) scam. Iko, Tino, Tessa, and Jelly, who are participating in the training, initially dismiss these messages as just another trick.
However, the mood shifts dramatically when two assistant coaches, Umar and Said, come face to face with a frightening figure, Mak Lampir (a character from Indonesian folklore). This ghostly being is fixated on extracting credit from them, creating a nerve-wracking environment at the camp.
Despite these eerie happenings, many at the camp, including the tough and skeptical Commander Carolina, refuse to believe in the supernatural. This disbelief adds to the tension and humor as they confront the bizarre and scary events unfolding around them.
