Leave the World Behind

Based on the novel "Leave the World Behind" by Rumaan Alam, this apocalyptic psychological thriller features Hollywood stars such as Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, and Ethan Hawke in the lead roles.

The movie tells the story of two families in the midst of world destruction. It begins when Amanda (Julia Roberts) and her husband, Clay (Ethan Hawke), embark on a weekend getaway with their children, Archie and Rose, in a cosy rental house.

The family holiday is disturbed when a man named Scott (Mahershala Ali) and his daughter suddenly arrive at their house. According to them, there has been a mysterious phenomenon: a blackout that makes the whole city fall apart.

At first they think that the blackout is only happening in the city, but they soon realise that this is a global crisis. This phenomenon also disables all the devices they have in the rented house. Now, how will they be able to survive in this strange phenomenon?
