"A Long Way to Come Home" is a sequel to the previous movie, "One Day We'll Talk About Today". The previous cast members return in this movie and are involved in a new story about one of the main characters who struggles with being away from her family.

Aurora (Sheila Dara Aisha) who now lives in London, England, is decided to pursue her dreams while studying art and looking for opportunities in the romantic city. On her journey, she meets Jem (Ganindra Bimo), a senior student at her college, who captures her heart. Their relationship becomes complicated when Aurora discovers another side of Jem that makes her have to sacrifice her studies and abandon her dreams.

Despite her difficulties, Aurora is hesitant to share her problems with her family in Indonesia. However, when her younger siblings, Angkasa (Rio Dewanto) and Awan (Rachel Amanda), unexpectedly come to London, Aurora feels encouraged to open up about her experiences and her struggles.
