Guy Ritchie's The Covenant

In March 2018, during the Afghan War, US Army Special Forces Master Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) and his team were ambushed by a Taliban truck bomb in Lashkargah during a vehicle inspection. They lost their translator in the attack. Quickly, John hired a new translator, Ahmed Abdullah (Dar Salim), who was willing to work for money despite the risks.

Ahmed who previously connected to the Taliban, turned against them after they killed his son. He gains Kinley's trust by using his insider information to save the team from another Taliban attack. But during a second attack, Ahmed successfully fights off the attackers but is mistakenly captured by US forces who believe he's one of the enemy.

When John hears about Ahmed's arrest, he feels he owes him. He tries to secure a US visa for Ahmed and his family but fails. He returns to Afghanistan with the help of Lt. Col. Vokes (Jonny Lee Miller) and a new identity, 'Ron Kay,' to avoid enemy detection. Finding Ahmed in hiding, they escape with his family to America.

This thriller, filled with high-stakes action, also includes some comedic moments to keep the audience both on the edge of their seats and entertained.
