Backtrace

Backtrace is an action-packed crime film directed by Brian A. Miller, released in 2018. Featuring action stars Sylvester Stallone and Matthew Modine, the movie is produced by Lionsgate Premiere. It centers on a criminal who must piece together the crime he committed.

Donovan MacDonald (Matthew Modine) is a skilled thief who has always been on the police's radar. During a bank heist, he suffers a head injury that causes him to lose his memory. This leads to his confinement in the psychiatric ward of a prison.

While being evaluated, MacDonald is injected with a special serum by Dr. Erin (Meadow Williams), a doctor in the ward. This serum is intended to help him recall his forgotten life. After receiving the treatment, he is released from prison.

As MacDonald tries to piece his past together, FBI agent Sykes (Sylvester Stallone) watches him closely. Sykes hopes that MacDonald will remember where he hid the money stolen from the bank.
