STORYLINE
In Wolfgang Petersen's 1997 action-packed thriller "Air Force One," a blend of political intrigue and intense action storytelling results in a film that stood out as one of the 1990s' most celebrated action movies. Over 124 minutes, the film masterfully portrays a high-stakes terrorist plot against the American President.
The narrative unfolds as President James Marshall (Harrison Ford) is returning from a diplomatic mission in Moscow. Aboard Air Force One, tens of thousands of feet above the sea, a dramatic turn of events starts as the plane, carrying the President, his family, and his cabinet, is seized by followers of General Radek (Jürgen Prochnow), the leader of a militant dictatorship from Kazakhstan.
The hijacking is orchestrated by Egor (Gary Oldman), who threatens the lives of the passengers, demanding the release of Radek. However, Egor and his group underestimate their adversary: President Marshall, a former combat veteran with unparalleled strategic acumen. In a race against time, President Marshall musters all his skills and knowledge to retake control of the plane from Egor, preventing it from being transformed into a deadly weapon in the skies.
