Jason Bourne is a character created by novelist Robert Ludlum. He first appeared in the 1980 novel "The Bourne Identity," which was adapted into a television series in 1988. The character was then featured in nine additional novels by Eric Van Lustbader.

The novel was adapted into a film in 2002, also titled "The Bourne Identity," with Matt Damon playing the lead role. Bourne is depicted as highly skilled in using firearms, explosives, and various martial arts techniques. He is also known for his sharp observation and evasion skills.

To date, there have been five films about Jason Bourne, all of which were successful at the Box Office. For those interested in the thrilling adventures of this CIA operative, here’s a guide to those movies:

1. The Bourne Identity (2002)

The Bourne Identity (2002)

The story begins with a fisherman discovering an unconscious man floating in the Mediterranean Sea. The man, suffering from amnesia, has a Swiss bank account number implanted in his hip. He travels to Zurich, Switzerland, to access the account.

At the bank, he retrieves a deposit box containing a large sum of money, a gun, and six passports, each with his photo but under different names. He identifies himself as Jason Bourne. A bank employee alerts the CIA’s covert division, ‘Operation Treadstone,’ about his visit.

Bourne heads to the American embassy in Switzerland but escapes after officials try to arrest him. He meets Marie Kreutz and offers her $20,000 to help him get to an address in Paris listed on one of his passports.

Back at CIA headquarters, the head of Operation Treadstone, Alexander Conklin, informs his superiors that Bourne is still alive. He reveals that Bourne was supposed to assassinate an African dictator named Wombosi but failed. Consequently, the agency sends three trained agents to eliminate Jason Bourne.

2. The Bourne Supremacy (2004)

The Bourne Supremacy (2004)

In this sequel, Jason Bourne and his girlfriend Marie Kreutz are living in Goa, India. For two years, Bourne has been struggling with fragmented memories of his initial assignment as a black ops agent.

At the same time in Berlin, CIA Deputy Director Pamela Landy is investigating a theft of $20 million from CIA funds, based on information from an informant.

However, before she can secure the evidence, a Russian operative named Kirill kills the informant and sets his sights on Bourne in Goa.

Alerted to Kirill’s arrival, Bourne and Marie hastily escape by car, but their vehicle crashes into a river. Marie tragically dies in the accident, and Kirill leaves, believing Bourne is dead. Surviving the ordeal, Bourne heads to Naples, Italy, fueled by a desire for vengeance.

Meanwhile, Landy digs into the activities of Operation Treadstone, the CIA's elite assassination unit that Bourne was a part of. She informs her superior, Martin Marshall, that a Russian politician with proof of the $20 million theft was murdered, and she suspects Bourne's involvement. Marshall swiftly orders Landy to Naples to arrest Bourne.

3. The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

In this installment, Simon Ross, a journalist from The Guardian, is gathering information on Jason Bourne and Operation Treadstone from his sources. His activities draw the attention of the CIA, which tracks him down after he contacts his editor.

Bourne travels to Paris to update his colleague, Martin, on his plans to confront his girlfriend's killer. He then rendezvous with Ross in London to help the journalist evade the CIA.

Tragically, an agent named Paz, acting under orders from Noah Vosen, head of Operation Blackbriar, eliminates Ross. It turns out the source Ross intended to meet was Neal Daniels, a CIA Branch Chief in Madrid. Bourne secures Ross's notebook following the altercation.

On his journey, Bourne connects with Nicky Parsons, a former Treadstone logistics technician. She decides to help him in his mission to dodge the CIA.

Their search leads them to Morocco, where they learn another agent, Desh Bouksani, is tasked with killing Daniels. Bourne attempts to intercept Desh but is unsuccessful in preventing Daniels' death.

Nevertheless, he saves Nicky from the assassin. Bourne later sifts through the remains of Daniels' possessions, uncovering the address of the CIA's Anti-Terrorism Bureau's undercover division in New York, where Vosen directs Operation Blackbriar.

4. The Bourne Legacy (2012)

The Bourne Legacy (2012)

"The Bourne Legacy" introduces a new protagonist, Aaron Cross, a member of Operation Outcome, a covert program of the U.S. Defense Department. Agents in this program are provided with green pills to boost their physical skills and blue pills to enhance their mental capabilities.

While training in Alaska, Cross meets his partner. However, the next day, his partner's cabin is destroyed by a missile strike, which Cross narrowly survives. The attack was done by Eric Byer, linked to both Operation Blackbriar and Treadstone.

Following Jason Bourne's exposure of Operations Blackbriar and Treadstone, which implicated several CIA officials, Eric Byer decides to terminate all Outcome agents to cover up evidence, including Aaron Cross.

At the same time, scientists linked to the program are marked for elimination. One researcher, Martha, escapes this fate and meets Cross. Caught in a dangerous conspiracy, Cross vows to protect Martha and help her overcome her dependence on the enhancement pills.

5. Jason Bourne (2016)

Jason Bourne (2016)

Jason Bourne has completely recovered from his amnesia and now spends his time in underground street fighting. Meanwhile, his former partner, Nicky Parsons, has joined a group of activists led by Christian Dassault. She tries to hack into the CIA’s computer systems to expose their secret operations.

During her hacking, Nicky finds documents showing that Bourne’s father was crucial in getting his son recruited into Operation Treadstone. She travels to Athens to share this information with Bourne.

Their meeting takes place under dangerous circumstances, amid a violent anti-government protest in Greece. At the same time, CIA agents are also in Greece with orders to capture them.

Tragically, Nicky is killed by an agent who holds a personal vendetta against Bourne. Before she dies, she manages to pass a key to Bourne, which unlocks a locker containing important CIA files. Bourne then heads to Berlin to meet with Christian.

In Berlin, Bourne deciphers the files and discovers that his father, Richard Webb, was a CIA analyst who helped create the Treadstone program. CIA officer, Heather Lee, tracks Bourne's location and starts to erase the files remotely. She then tries to convince Bourne to return to the CIA.
